NEW WASHINGTON SALES TAX LAWS Effective July 1, 2008, the State of Washington has changed how businesses collect sales tax. Instead of charging the local rate where the business is located, businesses must now charge the local rate of where the buyer is located. There are over 350 tax areas in Washington and many overlap with the same zip code producing over 45,000 tax addresses. Our on-line ordering system cannot handle this. Until a solution is found we have only two choices, refuse to sell to Washington residents or figure out all the taxes by hand. We are attemping the later so Washington residents can still purchase our Dvd's. But this means that Washington State customers ordering on-line may have to pay the wrong amount in tax. Therefore we are offering two options: 1: Washington State customers can order on-line paying, perhaps, a few pennies more or less than the 'correct' amount and we will in turn figure the 'correct' amount manually to send to the state. 2: Or you can e-mail us with your address and we will figure out the correct total and you may mail us a check. We apologize for all the confusion this has created. Hopefully a reasonable and affordable solution will be found to this situation soon. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. THIS APPLIES TO WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENTS ONLY |
