These unique videos are designed for elementary age schoolchildren. Blending animation with actual photography and video, the viewing child can relate to the characters and at the same time see the actual locations as the really appear, thus increasing comprehension. The child is entertained and learns at the same time. Additionally, the story is told to kids by kids, further increasing the comprehension and entertainment. For homeschool and classroom the videos can be used as a compliment to current curriculum in science and history. A special educator package is available. The collection consists of three DVD's.

TRAVEL EPISODE (30 minutes approx - recommended ages 5 - 10)

Join Herc, Velocity and their dog Laika for a trip across the state. They visit and tell about places that children can visit to have fun and learn at. It is a great introduction to the state and great for family vacation trip planning.

NATURE EPISODE (30 minutes approx - recommended grades 3 - 5)

In this episode, the trio again travel the state, but this time in search of nature. At each location they provide insight into the natural wonders and science of the area and explain how things work. Visit such places as volcanos, glaciers, rainforests, tidepools, the coast and more. Learn about hydro-power from rivers, wildlife, marine life, geography and more.

HISTORY EPISODE (60 minutes approx - recommended grades 3 - 5)

A great introduction to the history of Washington State. In this episode the trio visits places of historical significance. At each location they bring the history back to life by pretending they are the historical characters and acting out a skit depicting an event from that location. These stories within a story really help children to learn history as they are entertained by the character's "re-inactiments". Covers Native Americans all the way up to the first part of the twentieth century.

EDUCATOR PACKAGE

Great for classrooms and homeschool to compliment current curriculum. The package includes all three episodes along with a CD containing educator notes with additional information, sample quizzes, and tips for taking students to visit the places presented in the videos. There is an educator file for the Nature episode and the History episode.
